Children

Children are an important part of Discipleship at St. John's. On the following pages, you'll find ways to involve and engage your children in various activities and lessons.

PrayGround - Kids Worship Space

Children learn to worship by being in worship with their families, but let's be honest, when you're under 3, you wiggle and squirm. We've designed a space in the sanctuary that allows children to be active in worship with their parents.

Sunday School
We offer fun and educational Sunday School classes for children ages 3 on up! Discipleship opportunities are offered for all ages from 9:45-10:35am on Sunday mornings from September through May. Parents – See the Adults page for opportunities available for you while your children are in Sunday School.

St John's PreSchool
As a ministry of our church, St. John's PreSchool exists to foster learning in a nurturing environment where our young children are loved, respected, and valued. To learn more and schedule a tour click here.

First Communion Workshop
First Communion is offered each year on Maundy Thursday (the Thursday before Easter, when we remember Christ’s institution of the Lord’s Supper). A First Communion Workshop will be offered prior to that date for children and their parents. At St. John's we believe that children will indicate when they are ready to receive Communion by showing an interest in the Sacrament, asking questions about it, and asking to participate in it.  When your child begins showing these signs of interest, talk to Pastor Eric about your child receiving Communion.

Kids of the Kingdom
Kids of the Kingdom is a great program for children ages 4-12 to sing, play instruments, have dinner fellowship together and also be leaders in worship.

We invite all children to be part of this music program which meets on Wednesdays from 5:15-6:25 beginning October 5th.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a summer faith formation event for children age 3 through those who have completed 5th grade. Click here for more information.

Summer Camp at Lutherdale

Children have so much fun when they spend a few days or a whole week at Lutherdale in the summer. A variety of camps are offered throughout the summer to fit your interests and your calendar. Look for the flyers on the lobby bulletin board. Click here for more information!
