Children are an important part of Discipleship at St. John's. On the following pages, you'll find ways to involve and engage your children in various activities and lessons.
Fellowship Nights
St. john's will host four Sunday evening Fellowship NIghts for all ages this program year:
October 21, January 27th, March 3rd, and April 28th
These evenings will begin at 5:15pm with a church-wide potluck followed by age-specific activities that will run from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, including KIDS' CLUB - a night away and a night to play! This is a time for children to have fun playing together at church while enjoying Christian fellowship and learning what it means to be a Christian. Last year the children had a blast playing wiffle ball, "bowling," making crafts, and more!
Sunday School
We offer fun and educational Sunday School classes for children ages 2 and 3 on up! (A nursery is available and staffed for children under 2.) Discipleship opportunities are offered for all ages from 9:45-10:45am on Sunday mornings from September through May. First Communion Workshop
On Saturday, March 16th, from 2pm to 4:30pm, Pastor Jennifer will lead a First Communion Workshop for children and their parents. All those who plan to receive their first communion in 2013 are encouraged to attend with their parents. The curriculum will be focused for children in 2nd and 3rd grades. Older children who have not yet received communion are encouraged to attend. Parents - if you believe that your child, though not yet in 2nd or 3rd grade, is ready to receive communion, you are very welcome to attend the workshop with your child. Children will then be invited to receive their First Communion on Maundy Thursday, March 28th, at the 6:30pm service. Please RSVP to Charis Gordon by March 10th.
Kids of the Kingdom
The Kids of the Kingdom (KOTK) are a small group of children Kindergarten (children must be age 4 by Sept 1, 2012) through 6th grade who meet weekly for fellowship, Bible lessons, dinner and singing. Our schedule runs each Wednesday from 5:00-6:15, October through March. We end our program year with a musical performance for the congregation. Cost is $45 per child (covers meals and a T-shirt).

Summer Camp at Lutherdale
Children have so much fun when they spend a few days or a whole week at Lutherdale in the summer. A variety of camps are offered throughout the summer to fit your interests and your calendar. Look for the flyers on the lobby bulletin board. Click here for more information!
