Memorial Garden and Columbarium

Consider our New Ministry

Memorial Garden/Columbarium

On All Saints Sunday 2017, St. John’s dedicated the Memorial Garden and Columbarium as a new ministry. The congregation shared this celebration in a beautiful service. It was fitting to have this dedication on All Saints Day as a way of honoring those who have gone on before. Phase one, which is 75-80% of the project, has been completed. Phase two includes some plantings, a water-fall and a center structure with a center statue.

Five inurnments have been completed and one-third of the niches have been sold. In addition many pavers, celebrating lives and friends of the congregation, have been placed in the garden.  Because it was decided at the very beginning by the congregation that this project would fund itself, the timeline to finish is dependent on the sale of niches or gifts from the congregation. A two-urn niche costs $3,000 and a one-urn niche $2,000.

While links to the application blanks for niches and pavers, as well as guidelines, can be found on the website below, they can also be found at the top of the last row of mailboxes in the lobby and on the Information Desk.
