The Mission Endowment Fund was established in May 2000 to provide additional support for the mission and ministries of St. John’s Lutheran Church. This is accomplished by investing gifts and bequests made to the church through a will, trust, life insurance policy, or other financial instrument. These gifts are placed in a permanent fund and only the income earned is used, in the form of grants, to support the ongoing work of the church.
St. John’s Lutheran Church established the Mission Endowment Fund to ensure and support the ongoing work of the church and our Lord Jesus Christ. Your gift to the Mission Endowment Fund is an act of financial stewardship that reflects the life of a faithful steward. When you include the St. John’s Mission Endowment Fund in your estate planning, you leave a lasting legacy.
Contributions to the Endowment Fund may be made now or through your estate planning. Ways to give to the Mission Endowment Fund:

The Endowment Fund Committee is the custodian of the fund and consists of five church members, approved by the Church Council. Each member serves a three year term. The Committee is responsible for carefully managing the fund aswell as coordinating distributions.
Only the income earned from the fund can be distributed. The purpose of the Mission Endowment Fund is to enhance the mission of St. John’s Lutheran Church, beyond the general operation of the congregation. To that end, distributions can be used for local or global outreach ministries, support of religious education, social ministries, and other special or unique situations.
The Mission Endowment Fund Committee will determine if and when it is able to make distributions. At that time, the congregation will be informed and individuals and groups encouraged to apply for a grant from the Mission Endowment Fund. A separate Grant Request Form will be available at these times. The Committee members will consider all requests that fit the established criteria.
