Middle School Ministry
All 5th-8th Graders

5th & 6th Graders
5th & 6th Graders meet twice monthly on Sunday evenings from 4:30-6:00 p.m. (alternating with the 7th and 8th graders). We will start with a light meal and then move into class time. In these years, students are engaged in a Bible overview led by volunteer leaders. The 5th and 6th graders are also invited to participate in monthly social events, can participate in Kids of the Kingdom, and are invited to participate in worship as musicians, readers, acolytes, and ushers.
7th and 8th Graders/Confirmation
The 7th and 8th grade confirmation classes will meet twice monthly on Sunday evenings from 4:30-6:00 p.m. (alternating with 5th and 6th graders). In these two years, students will learn about Martin Luther, the Ten Commandments, the Apostle’s Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Sacraments. Each session will start with a light meal and then lead into class time.
Sunday Mornings
Back by popular demand! Our 6th-8th Graders can share their faith through volunteering as student leaders for Sunday School and within the larger congregation. Each month students will participate in service projects, write and act in skits, have fellowship time and serve a variety of roles. The first day of YLT is September 18. **Adult leaders needed!
5th graders will still participate in the Sunday School program.
Monthly Social & Service Events
5th-8th Graders will be invited to monthly scheduled events where they can build community with each other, St. John’s, and the greater church through play, serving, and retreats.
