Children & Youth
(birth through 5th grade)

Children are an important part of Discipleship at St. John’s.
On the following pages, you’ll find ways to involve and engage your children in various activities and lessons.

Baptism

Baptism is God’s gift to us, establishing a relationship with us that begins now and extends into life eternal. If you are interested in learning about baptism for yourself or for your child, please contact the church office to set up a meeting with the pastor.

PrayGround – Kids Worship Space

Children learn to worship by being in worship with their families, but let’s be honest, when you’re under 3, you wiggle and squirm. We’ve designed a space in the sanctuary that allows children to be active in worship with their parents.

Sunday School

We offer fun and educational Sunday School classes for children ages 2 through 5th grade! Discipleship opportunities are offered for all ages from 9:45-10:30am on Sunday mornings from September through May.

St John’s Preschool

As a ministry of our church, St. John’s PreSchool exists to foster learning in a nurturing environment where our young children are loved, respected, and valued. To learn more and schedule a tour click the button below.

First Communion

Do you feel you child is ready to receive their First Communion?

At St. John’s we believe that children will indicate when they are ready to receive communion by showing an interest in the sacrament, asking questions about it, and asking to participate in it.

If you feel your child is ready to receive communion, please let Pastor Brian or Joanna know.

Kids of the Kingdom

Kids of the Kingdom is a great program for children ages 5-12 to sing, play instruments, have dinner fellowship together and also be leaders in worship.

We invite all children to be part of this music program which meets on Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15 from October to May.  New friends are always welcome.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a summer faith formation event for children age 4 through those who have completed 6th grade.

Summer Camp at Lutherdale

Children have so much fun when they spend a few days or a whole week at Lutherdale in the summer. A variety of camps are offered throughout the summer to fit your interests and your calendar. Look for the flyers on the lobby bulletin board.
