Transition Team Q & A for 11/06/20

November 6, 2020

Q: Is the [Transition] Team looking ahead to Advent and Christmas? Is there a plan to allow Christmas worship? How far ahead is the team forecasting?

A: In the early part of summer the Transition and Worship Teams began the discussion of various possibilities, alternative ideas, and safety measures for the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons.  We are planning an online virtual service and work is underway for a number of outdoor nativity scenes telling the Christmas story.  Sadly, an indoor Christmas worship is on hold at this time.  As for forecasting, plans continue to evolve as we monitor the latest updates surrounding COVID.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

Transition Team Q & A

October 23, 2020

Q: What information guided the decision to close the church building in October?

A: Upon assembling in May, the team used a comprehensive approach by reviewing resources such as the Greater Milwaukee SynodCDCWaukesha County COVID-19 DashboardWisconsin Department of Health COVID data, state mandates, county recommended guidelines and orders along with community resources that include local daycares, school districts, colleges, and universities.  The same comprehensive review of these resources will aid us in the evaluation to safely reopen the building.

Transition Team October 16 Update

The Transition Team met on October 13, 2020, to review the current status of COVID-19 and the possibility of opening the church building/grounds for services and small groups.  At this time, in-person worship and small group gatherings will remain on hold until further notice.  Thank you for your understanding and support.

Newborn Kits Assembled in Under an Hour

Thursday, August 13, 2020

On a typical night, during an atypical time of pandemic, twenty people met at St. John’s to assemble 450 Newborn Kits. The assembly process took less than hour!

The assembly team extends a huge thank you to Mickey Fank and the others that helped set up and organize the night before. Without their efforts the assembly would not be such a well-oiled machine.

Thank you also to everyone who donated items or finances to provide the required items for each kit. They will be a huge blessing to the new babies who receive them. We are blessed to be a blessing – helping one baby at a time.

Worship Via Facebook Live

Do you want to experience live worship? Are you unable to physically be at St. John’s for worship? Then join us for worship via Facebook Live!

Each Sunday at 10:00 we will “open the doors” to our outdoor worship. This is a worship that features scripture, prayer, sermon, communion, and contemporary music.

You do not need a Facebook account to join us for worship; simply click here.

Unfortunately, since this is an outdoor worship for the summer of 2020, worship will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. In that case, you may click here to join us for our recorded online worship.
